Our capsules combine folate from the well-known branded raw material Quatrefolic® with active vitamin B12 in the form of methylcobalamin. The two vitamins complement each other in several ways. Firstly, vitamin B12 supports folic acid metabolism. Secondly, both have a positive influence on mental balance and play a role in homocysteine metabolism.
- Folic acid intake increases maternal folate status; low folate status can be a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the developing fetus, which can be counteracted with a daily intake of 400 μg folic acid, which should be taken at least one month and up to three months after fertilization.
