Quercetin is a bright yellow plant substance that belongs to the flavonoid group and is therefore a polyphenol. It is found in many plants, particularly in their peel. The oak tree is particularly well known for its quercetin content. The name of the plant substance is derived from its Latin name, quercus .
Our capsules contain highly pure quercetin of natural origin. The flavonoid is obtained from the yellowish-white flowers and buds of the Japanese pagoda tree, Sophora japonica . Only when the tree has reached a minimum age of 15 does it begin to bear flowers. These hang from the tree in panicle-like clusters and are very popular with bees.
