According to ancient Germanic legends, bears roamed the forests in spring in search of fresh wild garlic. As the first delicacy after their strenuous winter sleep, it was supposed to prepare them for the coming year.
Wild garlic, also known as allium ursinum , is closely related to garlic and onions, as its characteristic smell and taste suggest. It is considered a harbinger of spring and prefers moist, shady locations such as deciduous forests and dense meadows. The leaves of wild garlic contain aromatic and pungent substances, including alliin and allicin, as well as methiin and ajoene.
Our wild garlic drops come from Italy. The plants grow on the Euganean Hills in Veneto and are harvested from the wild.
The mixing ratio for alcoholic extracts is usually calculated based on the dry mass of the plants used. Our wild garlic drops achieve a ratio of 1:10.
