The edelweiss grows at an altitude of 2,000–3,000 meters on exposed limestone cliffs. It withstands wind and weather and is extremely resilient. A dense downy foliage protects the flower from drying out and from UV radiation.

The edelweiss we process comes from the nursery of the Bad Heustrich Foundation in the beautiful Bernese Oberland. This is very close to our headquarters in Frutigen. The foundation is a center of excellence for training, employment, and housing for people with learning disabilities or cognitive impairments.
