“Salve!” That's how people greet each other in Ticino, for example, and it literally means “to be healthy” (from Latin, or “to save” from the Italian “salvere”). Yes, the first part of this name actually comes from salve – be healthy! What if there were a natural agent to prevent or even treat cancer? Just a dream, if in some cases even aggressive chemotherapy drugs can't defeat cancer?
Phytonutrients – Salvestrols
English scientists have discovered an important tumor-selective mechanism by which certain phytonutrients found in our food eliminate cancer cells. Phytonutrients are substances found in plants. They are also known as secondary plant compounds. These substances protect plants from UV light, toxins, pests, and other harmful substances. When we eat these plants, we benefit from these protective substances.
English researchers have now identified more than 50 phytonutrients in vegetables, herbs, and fruits. They all have in common that, after activation by the enzyme CYP1B1, they trigger apoptosis (cell death). The researchers have named this group of phytonutrients salvestrols.
CYP1B1 and the salvestrols
The key point is that this enzyme, CYP1B1, is only found in cancer cells! Salvestrols are therefore only activated in cancer cells and converted into a deadly cytotoxin. CYP1B1 is a tumor-specific enzyme, meaning it is present in all types of cancer and can be considered a universal tumor marker that can be used to distinguish tumor cells from healthy cells. Healthy cells remain unaffected by this mechanism, as one would expect from cancer therapy.
Where are the salvestrols?
So much for the theory. Unfortunately, the salvestrol content in conventionally grown vegetables and fruit is drastically decreasing due to the use of pesticides. Furthermore, plant selection and breeding have led to varieties naturally rich in bitter salvestrols no longer being cultivated as frequently because we humans dislike the bitter taste. Unfortunately, conventionally grown vegetables and fruit offer little cancer prevention. For this reason, it's best to opt for fresh, seasonal organic produce. Salvestrols are found, for example, in leafy greens, asparagus, cabbage, celery, red fruits, grapes, apples, figs, oranges, parsley, basil, rosemary, sage, and dandelion.
However, to prevent cancer, a person needs at least 100 so-called salvestrol points daily. This is a measure of the amount of salvestrol absorbed in one capsule. It's not easy to get this amount through your daily diet.
Salvestrol 350 and Salvestrol 2000
For this reason, Salvestrol 350 was developed exclusively for cancer prevention. Cancer patients require much higher doses, which is what Salvestrol 2000 is intended for. Any cancer treatment should be handled by specialists!
