Centuries later, these ancient ceremonies were partially adopted by today's religious communities. The frankincense tree prefers dry, mountainous regions, including India, North Africa, and the Middle East. Its resins contain essential oils that give it its characteristic fragrance.
The frankincense extract contained in our capsules is obtained by making small incisions in the branches and trunk of the Indian frankincense tree, Boswellia serrata. This releases the resin, which contains boswellic acids. After drying and hardening, the resins are scraped off and processed into the extract.
