What does Foot Protection Hydrogel contain?
The foot protection hydrogel contains three different plant extracts:
- An extract of Artemisia annua from Swiss cultivation. It is an annual plant that grows into a bush as tall as a man in summer and also thrives in our temperate climate. Only the tips of the leaves are used. It contains 245 proven secondary plant substances, including artemisinin. A highly concentrated extract of the leaf tips with all active ingredients is used for the hydrogel.
- An extract of cinnamon known for its protective and nourishing properties.
- An extract of habanero. habenero is a very hot type of chili and is therefore rarely used in Switzerland. Habanero pods contain natural capsaicin. The pods are grown in Switzerland, harvested and processed by hand.
How is the foot protection hydrogel made?
We harvest Swiss-grown Artemisia leaves and Habanero pods by hand. The valuable active ingredients are then dissolved by means of an extract and reused for the hydrogel. We now produce the aloe vera gel, which forms the basis, ourselves from organic aloe vera powder, which means we are independent of suppliers and their formulations (thickeners, preservatives, etc.). Because the powder is highly concentrated, the aloe vera has moved down the list of ingredients, but the aloe vera content is unchanged.
What else does Foot Protection Hydrogel contain?
The extracts from the botanicals mentioned above are mixed with an organic aloe vera inner leaf gel. The aloe vera gel is quickly absorbed into the deeper layers of the skin and is free of aloin, which is found in the outer leaf and is toxic. We now produce the aloe vera gel ourselves from organic aloe vera powder, which means we are independent of suppliers and their formulations (thickeners, preservatives, etc.). Because the powder is highly concentrated, the aloe vera has moved down the list of ingredients, but the aloe vera content is the same! Finally, high-quality frankincense oil (Boswellia carterii oil) is added. This gives the hydrogel a pleasant smell and supports the regeneration of the skin. The hydrogel does not contain parabens.
What is the benefit of a hydrogel?
The formulation is a fat-free, water-based gel (= hydrogel), which forms a thin layer on the skin. The individual ingredients are enclosed in this layer and are therefore available to the skin for longer, ie the caring effect is stronger and lasts longer. The gel is easy to apply and spread evenly on the skin. It does not become sticky after drying and does not tighten on the skin. We use the natural Xantham Gum as a gelling agent. It forms beautiful gels and is very easy to apply.
How natural is the foot protection hydrogel?
We achieve a natural cosmetics share of 100% if this means that the ingredients are from nature or occur in nature. We now use benzoic acid and sorbic acid (0.3% sodium benzoate / 0.15% potassium sorbate) as preservatives. Both are officially approved substances in natural cosmetics. The foot protection hydrogel does not contain parabens.
